Title: Władzia
Date: 2024
Description: This portrait depicts the artist’s aunt, Władysława. During the realization of her doctoral dissertation, titled Traces of the Goddess in the Web of Multiversum, a “meeting” and reconciliation occurred with the artist’s mother, who passed away thirty years ago. She “inspired” the artist to organize family matters and renew relationships with her sisters. Władysława is the mother’s youngest sister, and it was from her that the artist learned much new, often difficult information about her mother. These revelations helped her understand her mother’s motivations, allowing for forgiveness and reconciliation.
Władysława is a farmer who has worked hard throughout her life. Despite her hardships, she possesses incredible energy and a sense of humor. The artist portrayed her as a mermaid to bring a touch of madness and magic into her arduous daily life. The blue tonality of the painting is inspired by the color of her aunt’s eyes.
In the portrait, she is presented as a mermaid sitting on the moon, which symbolizes the feminine aspect, a connection to emotions, and the cyclicity of life. This portrait is a trace and evidence of the goddess’s power, which supported the artist in the reconstruction of her female lineage.
