Description: Painting forms a diptych with the painting Fish Head (Red). The dominant chrome yellow is a symbol of the sun and evokes the masculine aspect, which creates balance with the feminine aspect. Both of them are equally important aspects of the life force. It refers to depictions of the fish goddess from the matristic Neolithic cultures of Old Europe. It symbolised the regenerative aspect of the goddess, relating to fertility and rebirth. The fish’s mouth has a clearly marked eye – one of the regenerative symbols of the goddess. It can be associated with the phallus.
